Job Summary

Conduct regular security patrols of premises including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, and entrances to ensure site safety. Monitor surveillance systems and alarm panels, reporting suspicious activity immediately to authorities. Control access points to the centre, verifying that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas. Respond swiftly to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or security threats, assisting staff during crises and evacuations. Greet visitors and patients, providing directions while enforcing centre policies and protocols. De-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally. Document daily activities, incidents, and breaches in accurate reports. Collaborate with centre staff and local law enforcement to coordinate security efforts. This full-time role (32 hours/week) requires a Security License for Nova Scotia, Intermediate First Aid & CPR Level C, and fluency in English. Paladin covers the cost of required Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.

Required Qualifications

Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia
Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
English (oral and written) fluency
High School Diploma/GED
Intermediate First Aid/CPR C
