Job Summary
UMGC seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Healthcare Policies, Legal and Ethical Issues in Health Care, and Legal Aspects of Healthcare Administration remotely. The role emphasizes active student engagement, facilitating collaboration, providing constructive feedback with rubrics, and connecting concepts across the Healthcare Administration program. Responsibilities include guiding problem- and project-based learning demonstrations, ensuring current subject-matter expertise, and offering curricular input to program chairs. The position requires a terminal degree and significant professional experience in healthcare, plus online teaching experience for adult learners; candidates may be required to complete the online two-week FacDev 411 orientation. The role is remote and part-time with salary commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- Terminal degree in Healthcare Management, Public Health, Health Admin, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- 5 years directly relevant, current and active industry experience in Healthcare
- 3 years of experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education
- Hold one or more certifications such as CPHIMS, CHDA, CHFP, CPA, CPHQ, LSSGB/LSSBB, PMP, FACHE, RHIA/RHIT/CHDA/CHPS/CPHIMS, FACHE/CHFP/CPA, PMP, CISSP (preferred)
