Job Summary
Accurately post daily payments and adjustments from 835 files, paper EOBs, checks, and patient portals. Balance daily batches against deposits and adhere to departmental reconciliation processes. Maintain productivity standards while keeping error rates within policy limits. Respond promptly to external and internal phone calls and emails. Prioritize work to maximize turn-around time. Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. This role supports American Vision Partners' network of over 100 eye care centers across Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, California, and Texas.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of medical billing, payment posting or cash posting/ cash application experience in a medical/healthcare setting
- Active knowledge of CMS guidelines, contracted insurance guidelines and coding policies
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- Well-organized with attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
- Excellent math skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with team members, clinic staff, payers and patients
- Professional customer service skills
- Have a desire and dedication to work with self-discipline
- Maintains the strictest confidentiality: adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
- Ability to sit for long periods
- Work requires walking, bending, standing, sitting, and reaching
