Job Summary
Investigate vaccine storage unit temperature excursions and review digital data logger files to calculate out-of-range durations for providers. Collaborate with manufacturers to validate assessments and support providers in developing corrective action plans to prevent future violations. Review CDC and manufacturer guidance on vaccine storage and handling, then assist in creating and disseminating educational tools to internal and external partners. Provide on-site education to provider offices in New Jersey facing storage challenges and build relationships with state and local stakeholders. Review digital data logger files for providers whose vaccines have been exposed to out-of-range temperatures to assist the provider in calculating the time vaccine storage units were out of range. Collaborate with vaccine manufacturers as needed to validate provider temperature excursion assessments and vaccine viability. Work with providers to assist in the development and execution of corrective action plans to ensure that additional temperature excursions are prevented, and vaccines are stored and handled in compliance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance. Support providers through re-vaccination and restitution activities as a result of temperature excursions or unaccounted for vaccine doses. Provide on-site education and support to provider offices throughout New Jersey who have difficulty with vaccine storage and handling, as needed. Build, foster and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with state and local partners, New Jersey healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of public health and/or pharmacy experience
- Experience with vaccine storage, handling, and management
- Skilled in Excel as well as data analysis, interpretation, and evaluation
- Self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical experts, administrators, external partners including healthcare providers, and the public
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong cultural competency and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in an environment with diverse cultures, multiple perspectives, and competing needs
- Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence
- Self-report motor vehicle violations/convictions
- Provide proof of acceptable insurance coverage with mandatory minimum coverages as set forth within the Driver Safety Motor Vehicle policy
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with an immunization program
- Experience in vaccine temperature excursions
- Completion of a pharmacy technician certification
