Job Summary
Maintain a professional security presence by patrolling interior and exterior areas, responding to incidents, and conducting patient watches. Assist visitors and staff, enforce hospital policies, manage access control, and document security events. Protect clients, property, and assets while working independently or with a team across four QHC facilities. Valid Ontario Security License, G driver's license, and First Aid & CPR Level C are required. Double COVID-19 vaccination and specific immunizations are mandatory. Commute to Kingston for pre-deployment training and provide Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behaviour certifications. Pay rate is $18.35–$19.13/hour with overtime averaging after 88 hours. Shifts include 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Security License for Ontario
- Valid Ontario G drivers license
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
- A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
- Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Rubella
- Able to commute to Kingston for pre-deployment training
- Have a reliable, well-maintained vehicle
- Must be able to train and work at all four QHC facilities (Belleville, Trenton, Picton, Bancroft)
- Able to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- 6+ months of security experience preferred
- Previous healthcare security experience considered an asset
