Job Summary
Conduct BBV screening and vaccinations, coordinate the Hep C treatment clinic, and manage the needle exchange program to reduce drug-related harm. Deliver clinical interventions for harm reduction and support service users toward abstinence-based or medically assisted recovery. Apply knowledge of physical health interventions while partnering with health services, GPs, and the hepatitis clinic to improve outcomes. Maintain information governance standards and pursue professional development in drug and alcohol issues.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues
- Experience of working within a related field
- Experience of delivering harm reduction advice and interventions, including Needle Exchange
- Experience of delivering Naloxone training
- Current Certificated Injection Technique and Immunisation Training OR willing to undertake training
- A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group
- Good working knowledge of physical health interventions, services and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
