Job Summary
Provide knowledgeable assessment and skilled direct nursing care to students and staff with acute and chronic health issues while collaborating with stakeholders to plan, educate, and evaluate emergency and chronic health care systems. Maintain accurate electronic immunization records, individualized care plans, and medication administration logs, and implement mandated health screenings such as dental sealants and flu programs. Educate key personnel on health services, advocate for student needs during IEP and 504 team meetings, and act as a liaison to community resources for medically underserved students. Maintain a safe school environment by adhering to local and state health department best practices and provide timely monthly reporting to the Health and Wellness Director.
Required Qualifications
- associate's degree in nursing or closely related field
- two years' experience providing public health, nursing, health education or related services
- strong office, computer and oral and written communication skills
- knowledge of the technical aspects, methods, processes, principles, practices, procedures and terminology used in assigned field
- a valid Registered Nurse License issued by the State
- CPR certification
- a valid Indiana driver's license
- successfully complete drug screening requirements
