Job Summary
Maintain accurate resident medical records according to Federal, State, and facility regulations, preparing files for physician visits, physicals, and transfers. Transcribe physician orders, update computerized records, and monitor for proper signatures. Coordinate ancillary services by scheduling lab work, arranging transportation in advance, and managing the hearing aid program. Monitor appointment schedules for ancillary services and physician visits while reviewing the current DNR list. Act as a representative of the nursing home to establish good public relations and ensure confidentiality of resident information.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of approved vocational technical Health Unit Coordinator course
- Dependable

- Ability to organize and execute many delegated tasks
- Some knowledge of nursing practices
