Health Unit Coordinator I (0.9 FTE Night)

Job Summary
The Health Unit Coordinator I supports the unit’s operations and serves as a first-line customer service advocate to promote excellent patient and family experiences. Night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. EST) weekdays with every third weekend and rotating holidays. Responsibilities include responding to call lights, directing inquiries, activating alerts, and coordinating activities of nursing staff, physicians, departments, patients, and visitors to ensure timely and accurate information flow. Greet and assist patients and visitors; answer multi-line telephones with proper etiquette; provide unit support such as bed assignments and maintaining patient locations in Epic; assist in onboarding/training new employees; transcribe physician orders using medical terminology and policies to ensure timely patient care documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- 1 year Healthcare or related experience Preferred
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Required within 90 Days
- Health Unit Clerk (HUC) Preferred
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Preferred
- TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Never or Rarely
