Job Summary
School Health Technician at Merritt Brown Middle School provides care and support to students across Bay County schools. Responsibilities include administering medications with proper documentation, providing minor first aid and CPR/AED as needed, assisting with health screenings (hearing, vision, scoliosis, BMI) and related follow-up, performing specialized medical procedures after training and RN delegation, managing inventory of first aid supplies, and ensuring confidentiality. The role involves coordinating with the PanCare of Florida health team, communicating with school health staff and parents/guardians, and documenting services in accordance with policy and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED Diploma
- Current CPR certification (Infant/Child/Adult/AED) and completion of First Aid training
- Must successfully pass a Level I background screening
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Computer literate and experienced with business machines (copy, scan, fax, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and proper phone etiquette
