Job Summary

Manage clinical data sets and workflows to define use cases for chronic disease prevention and management. Develop programs for data extraction, gap analysis of terminology standards, and coded value sets to enhance quality of care. Review, refine, and update clinical taxonomies for accurate data classification while performing data mapping for system integration. Gather business requirements, document processes, and create Standard Operating Procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design NLP-based solutions and implement clinical templates in electronic health records. Provide project status updates, conduct root cause analysis, and propose recommendations to improve system efficiencies and patient safety.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 - 9 years' experience
  • Prior clinical experience and background in healthcare
  • Excellent detail skills
  • Ability to understand complex verbal instructions, independently research solutions, and deliver on tight deadlines

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and present complex ideas and solutions in a clear and concise manner
  • A master's degree or bachelor's plus 2 years relevant experience, or associate's + 4 years relevant experience
  • Education in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, or related scientific discipline such as Health Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Information Systems
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years' experience
  • Associate degree plus 4 years' experience
  • Located in one of our hiring states of AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, MD, MI, SC, TX, VA, or WI
  • High speed internet connection sufficient to take part in video conferencing

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with VA EHR platforms CPRS, VistA, and Oracle Cerner Millennium
  • Experience in Agile methodology, Scrum framework, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with VA EHR platforms CPRS, VistA, or Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium
  • Prior working experience and in-depth knowledge of terminology and data standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, HL7, FHIR, CDA) and coding/classification systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, HEDIS measures), ontologies (OWL), and natural language processing (NLP)
  • Familiarity with common data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs
