HEALTH SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - 64003870

CLINIC DUTIES: Perform clinical procedures, to include: obtain patient vital signs and document in the EHR; conduct onboarding interviews (Hepatitis assessments, allergies, HIV pre/post counselling, pregnancy status) and input data in EHR; prepare patients for clinician exams, administer basic first aid, assist with examinations, operate office/medical equipment, and perform aseptic procedures; collect routine lab specimens (basic lab procedures, pregnancy tests, venipunctures); input lab orders into Change Healthcare, manage lab manifests, and transport specimens as required. CLINIC SUPPORT SERVICES: Prepare clinic area, stock supplies, maintain equipment, organize educational folders, place supply requisitions, and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment per Infection Control Policies; follow OSHA Hazardous Waste standards. CLERICAL SUPPORT SERVICES: Provide information and referrals to callers, schedule appointments in HMS and Florida SHOTS, check-in clients, prepare paperwork, take messages, shred confidential documents, review staff schedules, record services on Encounter Forms, manage lab requests, perform general administration duties (coding for reimbursement, patient education, histories), and input real-time EAR data into HMS; conduct monthly QI/QA of EHRs. OTHER DUTIES: Participate in training and staff development; may include clinical and emergency assignments. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Basic lab procedures including venipuncture, pregnancy tests, documenting in HMS; prepare and package autoclave instruments with proper documentation including spore tests.
