Job Summary
Administer basic first aid procedures and screen ill or injured children, staff, and visitors in accordance with state laws and district regulations. Utilize health products and supplies to care for injuries, complete accident reports and documentation, and prepare correspondence, forms, and referrals. Maintain student health records, emergency medical files, and the health office environment while managing first aid inventory. Operate standard office equipment and attend required meetings or training. Work cooperatively with school personnel, maintain confidentiality of medical information, and handle emergency situations by notifying the nurse, administrator, parents, or paramedics as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma
- GED Certificate
- demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law
Desired Qualifications
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency
- Health care experience
- Basic First Aid and age-appropriate CPR techniques
- Health and safety regulations
- Modern office practices, procedures and equipment
