Job Summary

Health Service Director in Training (HSDiT) program in California offering an advancement track for Oakmont team members in Health Services. The program provides customized leadership training, on-the-job experience under current Health Services Directors, and potential placement at Oakmont communities after training. Candidates must hold a California LVN or RN license in good standing, have a minimum of six months in their current role, and be willing to travel statewide and relocate for a permanent position. Strong interest in clinical leadership, coaching or mentoring experience preferred, plus excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with basic computer systems and electronic health records, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications are required; passing a criminal background check and health screening is required. Length of program is approximately three months, with potential subsequent placements in various Health Services leadership roles.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • California LVN or RN License in good standing
  • Minimum six months in current position (for Oakmont candidates)
  • Prefer two (2) years’ experience as a Licensed Nurse; one (1) year experience in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the state during the training process and must be open to relocation for a permanent position
  • Demonstrated interest in clinical leadership; prior experience coaching or mentoring peers preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; passion for serving older adults
  • Proficient in basic computer systems and ability to learn electronic health records and other Company tools
  • Able to read, write, and speak English to interact with residents, families, and coworkers
  • Able to adapt and respond to change, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
  • Must be coachable, highly motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid First Aid and CPR, as needed
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Health Screening tests
  • Training program length is anticipated to be three months depending on prior experience
