Job Summary
Coordinate and conduct focused academic advising and student support services to help health science students persist in their program of study. Develop and implement individual and small group intervention strategies to establish goals and increase learning persistence. Provide services including student advisement, academic progress review, and coordination of retention efforts for new and continuing students. Deliver information on targeted career and educational pathways and assist with competitive selection processes. Collaborate with division heads and program chairs to ensure consistency in program selection guidelines. Conduct and analyze formative and summative evaluation data of program effectiveness, making modifications as necessary. Complete all assigned trainings in a timely manner. Work normal business hours Monday through Thursday and Friday, reporting directly to the Dean for Health Sciences at the Milledgeville campus.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Associate degree in a healthcare, counseling, education or closely related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Documented three (3) years related full-time work experience in higher education environment (Prior advisement, teaching or training experience with adult learners)

- Earned Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, counseling, education or closely related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Active Georgia license/certification in good standing in a health-care field or related field
