Job Summary
Conduct safety audits of project sites and oversee emergency response systems to ensure legislative compliance. Provide leadership and technical expertise regarding industry standards while establishing and monitoring site training programs. Facilitate workplace risk assessments, audit JHSC effectiveness, and monitor incident investigations and corrective actions. Collaborate with line management, JHSC representatives, and clients to meet safety and training needs across Technica's underground mine sites in Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Underground Common Core or equivalent provincial designation
- Proficient knowledge of industry legislation (OHSA and supporting regulations, ESA, MTCU Core Modular Training Programs)
- Proficiency with computer programs (MS Office, Outlook) and good working knowledge of computerized systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Positive and collaborative with strong client/customer service skills
- Demonstrated initiative with the ability to stay organized, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel as required
- Must be open to working at any of the underground mine sites, in Ontario, that Technica operates at
- Candidates are required to undergo pre-employment testing as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Safety Professional designation is considered an asset
- Completion of Practical Loss Control Leadership Program is an asset
