Job Summary
Conduct safety and environmental audits, inspect worksites to ensure equipment and materials do not present hazards, and review incident reports to enforce corrective actions. Investigate unresolved site problems, develop health and safety programs and strategies, and provide training to employees on compliance with ESA Code, TSSA Standards, and CSA standards. Review and advise supervisory staff on appropriate practices and procedures. This role requires 3-5 years of HSE experience on construction sites and a degree in Occupational Health & Safety. Candidates must understand provincial and federal regulations, including Fall Protection and Confined Space training. The expected salary range is $70,000 - $95,000 per year. Criminal and professional reference checks are required, and applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' of experience within the HSE related field, specifically on construction sites
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Studies or equivalent
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal HSE regulations, programs and standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, and other HSE databases
- Ability to recognize hazards as well as advise on appropriate safe work methods
- Ability to understand technical drawings/systems
- Criminal Background Check
- Professional Reference Check
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Training in Fall Protection/Working at Heights, First-Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Electrical Awareness, Asbestos Awareness are assets
- NCSO, CUSP, CRSP designations are assets
- Familiar with industry guidelines, ESA Code, TSSA Standards & appropriate CSA standards
