Job Summary
Oversee occupational health and safety programs and procedures for project sites within the District, conducting trend analysis and ensuring accurate tracking of accidents, injuries, and incidents. Develop and lead safety orientations, trainings, and toolbox talks for all staff while managing equipment maintenance, procurement, and permits to support construction schedules. Provide technical expertise on training, equipment, and inspection requirements, then review and approve Daily Hazard Analysis and Jobsite Hazard Analysis discussions. Manage injury reporting, resolution, and corrective action plans, and create, review, or approve worksite safety and evacuation plans to support emergency response and vehicle access.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years' experience in construction or safety
- Experience managing construction or safety teams
- Developed skills identifying and mentoring direct report safety professionals
- Able to provide training and learning opportunities for construction teams based on expert safety knowledge and standard safety principles
- Proven skill to identify onsite project safety risks and develop innovative and compliant mitigation strategies within safety program and agency requirement standards
- Expert knowledge of construction site equipment, methods and processes
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety or a related field preferred
