Job Summary
Oversee safety programs and procedures for project sites within the District, conducting trend analysis and ensuring accurate tracking of accidents, injuries, and incidents. Develop and lead all safety orientations, trainings, and toolbox talks for project staff while managing equipment maintenance and procurement to support construction schedules. Provide technical expertise for training and inspection requirements, review Daily Hazard Analysis documentation, and approve worksite safety and evacuation plans. Manage injury reporting, resolution, and corrective action plans to implement mitigation strategies. Ensure all required permits and certifications remain active to avoid construction delays.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years' experience in construction or safety
- Experience managing construction or safety teams
- Developed skills identifying and mentoring direct report safety professionals
- Able to provide training and learning opportunities for construction teams based on expert safety knowledge and standard safety principles
- Proven skill to identify onsite project safety risks and develop innovative and compliant mitigation strategies within safety program and agency requirement standards
- Expert knowledge of construction site equipment, methods and processes
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety or a related field
