Job Summary
Oversee occupational health and safety programs and procedures for one or more project sites within the same District. Perform trend analysis to track accidents, injuries, fire, property damage, and other safety incidents. Develop and conduct all safety orientations, trainings, and toolbox talks for project staff. Ensure required permits and certifications are active and tracked to avoid construction schedule delays. Provide technical expertise for training, equipment needs, and inspection requirements. Oversee equipment maintenance and procurement to ensure crews have necessary safety items before activities begin. Review and approve Daily Hazard Analysis from direct reports and participate in Jobsite Hazard Analysis discussions. Create, review, or approve worksite safety and evacuation plans, supporting emergency response and vehicle access planning. Manage injury reporting, resolution, and corrective action plans to implement mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years' experience in construction or safety
- Experience managing construction or safety teams
- Developed skills identifying and mentoring direct report safety professionals
- Able to provide training and learning opportunities for construction teams based on expert safety knowledge and standard safety principles
- Proven skill to identify onsite project safety risks and develop innovative and compliant mitigation strategies within safety program and agency requirement standards
- Expert knowledge of construction site equipment, methods and processes
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety or a related field
