Job Summary
Develop and maintain the project Health and Safety Management Plan while ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and client-specific regulations. Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and perform routine site safety inspections to enforce policies and prevent accidents. Lead safety training sessions, including site-specific orientations and weekly toolbox talks, and investigate incidents to prepare required reports and implement corrective actions. Liaise with management, subcontractors, regulators, and insurance carriers regarding audits, remedial actions, and worker's compensation claims. Monitor safety performance indicators and provide recommendations to Project Management. Requires 10 years of construction safety experience or relevant degree; based in Claremore, OK.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years full-time construction safety experience and OSHA 500 certification, or 5 years of construction experience and a degree in a safety related field, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with 2 years of construction experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state, federal and client-specific health and safety regulations
- Ability to provide strong mentorship skills, fostering the growth and competence of less experienced project Health and Safety team members
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Travel as needed
