Job Summary
Assist with safety audits, inspections, and field observations while supporting incident, near-miss, and hazard reporting reviews. Help maintain safety documentation, training records, and data tracking, and participate in safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and meetings. Support the development of safety communications and materials, review Emergency Action Plans, validate Job Safety Analyses, and assist the Plant Safety Lead with special safety projects. This full-time summer 2027 role begins May 17, 2027, offering a competitive hourly wage, housing options, and wellness center access within Metallus's legacy steel manufacturing team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester
- Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred majors: Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or related
