Job Summary

Health, Safety, Environmental & Security Specialist at Lubrizol drives HSES programs and regulatory compliance, supports audits and inspections, develops and updates safety policies, manages hazardous waste, conducts safety training, maintains required records, and leads incident investigations and root-cause analyses. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, fire protection, emergency management, security, and RCMS activities, and supports continual improvement across site programs including environmental permits and reports, hazard assessments, and process safety elements. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in an HSES-related field (or equivalent experience) and 1+ years in health, safety, or environmental roles, with strong MS Office skills and communication abilities; preferred credentials include Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and certifications in industrial maintenance/reliability or inspection. The position involves on-site work at a chemical/heavy industry facility with responsibilities spanning policy updates, training, audits, permits, recordkeeping, and cross-functional safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an HSES-related field, science, or engineering; extensive years (5 years) of experience in a HSES-related role may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 1+ years of health, safety and/or environmental experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in a chemical plant or heavy industry plant preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Certification in industrial maintenance and reliability (CMRP, CRE, or CMRT)
  • Certified Pressure Vessel, Above Ground Storage Tank, or Piping Inspector
