Job Summary
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across the new Baltimore facility by identifying regulatory requirements and leading corrective actions. Develop and implement HSE policies, prepare Job Hazard Analyses and risk assessments, and conduct regular safety inspections to drive continuous improvement. Lead incident investigations, deliver training programs, manage environmental permitting, and chair the plant safety committee to foster a strong safety culture. Partner with Operations, Engineering, and HR to integrate safety into facility design and support emergency preparedness planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HSE experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
Desired Qualifications
- advanced degree
- Prior experience in wire and cable, metals, or other heavy industrial manufacturing
- Experience launching or supporting HSE programs at a new or greenfield manufacturing site
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or actively pursuing certification
- OSHA 500/501 Authorized Trainer certification
- Additional certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification
- Experience with incident investigation methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, TapRooT, 5-Why)
- Demonstrated experience building HSE programs and driving a strong safety culture in a team management capacity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and influence at all levels of the organization
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and safety/EHS management software
- Ability to adapt to changing production demands, technologies, and business needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
