Health Safety Environment Technician

Job Summary
Conduct on-site safety observations, inspections, and audits while developing training materials for specific site hazards. Perform incident investigations, oversee subcontractor safety compliance, and manage OSHA and MSHA documentation including hazcom, rigging, and excavation protocols. Assist Operations with risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and controls. Deliver new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and safety training modules. This full-time exempt role requires extensive travel, overnight assignments, and adherence to corporate policies. Valid driver's license and knowledge of federal regulations are required.
Required Qualifications
- HSE/Safety related Bachelor's degree
- 0-3 years of experience in a HSE/Safety role
- no degree with 1-3 years of experience in Heavy Civil construction
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel overnight or long distances on occasion
- willingness to learn and adapt to change
- Ability to work under deadlines and pressure
- excellent communication (verbal/written) & time management skills
- detail oriented
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations
