Job Summary
Drive a culture of zero incidents and an optimum environmental footprint by ensuring facilities are well maintained, regulations are implemented, and hazard/aspect assessments are conducted. Execute annual HSE initiatives, support root cause analysis for incidents, and develop technical guidance to remove physical hazards. Conduct data collection and trend analysis on HSE metrics, coordinate HSE inspections and audits, and deliver training programs. Assist the operations team with return-to-work programs and manage administrative tasks including purchase orders. Participate in JHSC meetings and track action completion.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Health, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience as a Health, Safety and Environment Professional preferably within a manufacturing or commercial environment
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards related to Environment and Safety
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel etc.) and other software programs
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Background in manufacturing
- 3+ years of work experience in Health, Safety and Environment preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST)
- Occasional travel may be required for training, conferences, or site visits
- Full-time 100% in-person position located at 45 Ewen Road, Hamilton, ON L8S3C4
- Monday to Friday work schedule with flexibility to address urgent issues as needed 24/7
- Attendance in meetings and trainings on off shifts may also be required periodically
