Job Summary
Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator for PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Collaborates with project teams, trade partners and leadership to foster a strong safety culture where everyone goes home safe. Responsibilities include monitoring and assisting with implementation of the project HSE Plan and environmental plan, providing project-specific HSE information and training, developing hazard identification tools, conducting HSE inspections and ensuring corrective actions, supporting emergency response and security requirements, reviewing trade documentation for safety compliance, ensuring equipment inspections are documented, notifying stakeholders of incidents and supporting investigations, and building positive relationships across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Working toward Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Working toward safety designation.
- 1 year of experience in a related industry.
- Ability to learn applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to effectively problem solve.
- Ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
