Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) Manager

Job Summary

Drive the implementation of core HSES programs, initiatives, and regulations at the Monongahela, PA site while fostering a culture of engagement and exposure reduction. Lead and demonstrate commitment to HSES standards, managing systems and procedures through training, coaching, and technical expertise for site personnel and the leadership team. Provide oversight for incident investigations, analysis, and sustainable corrective actions, while establishing and reporting on key performance indicators and goals. Manage regulatory and internal/external audits, including ISO and PADEP, and administer company HSES management systems to ensure compliance. Coordinate periodic assessments of site procedures and contractor management, driving continuous improvement and problem-solving. Report to the Global HSES Manager as part of the site leadership team, working closely with management, supervisors, and employees to implement accident prevention activities.

Required Qualifications

  • BS or BA Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience implementing HSES compliance and risk management programs, preferably in a chemical (or related) manufacturing environment
  • Experience should include a minimum of 3 years of management/supervisory responsibility
  • Have a working knowledge of US OSHA and EPA regulations including OSHA PSM/EPA RMP and EPA Title V, stormwater, wastewater, RCRA, SPCC, waste regulations, etc.
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal and computer skills with a good working knowledge of databases and applications
  • Capable of developing and managing multiple projects, often with minimal oversight
  • Exhibits positivity, a passion for HSES, integrity and accountability
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Passion for recognizing and leading positive change
  • Travel Requirements: Infrequent <10% (occasional for training, group meeting, etc.)
  • Must be able to perform required duties in chemical manufacturing environment, which will sometimes require climbing stairs, walking the plant grounds and working outdoors

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional, and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist
  • Experience working with Union workforce
