Health & Safety Coordinator

Job Summary

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and permit-to-work processes to ensure compliance with OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards across the 140-acre laydown yard. Facilitate daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and root cause analyses for incidents while developing performance metrics and targets. Partner with project management to mitigate hazards, oversee safe commissioning, and transition the site from construction to operational status. Provide immediate first aid, coordinate medical responses, and train personnel in hazard recognition and emergency procedures. Work in field conditions involving extreme temperatures, heights, and extended periods of walking or standing, requiring a valid driver's license and willingness to wear full PPE.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Health and Safety management systems
  • Demonstrated experience in construction and operational safety
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910 standards
  • Proficient in root cause analysis methodologies and corrective/preventive action planning
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills
  • Willingness to work in field conditions and flexible schedules
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • Professional certification(s) such as Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST)
  • Experience with data analysis and safety performance reporting tools
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, often for long periods (up to 12 hours/day) or working from a seated position for up to 12 hours/day
  • Willingness to work in exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights
  • Ability to stoop, sit, stand, or be on their feet for extended period of times
  • Able to lift 50 pounds up to 10 times per shift
  • Must wear appropriate PPE, including FRC uniform, hard hat, safety-toe boots, gloves, and safety glasses
  • Analyzing situations and determining effective solutions

  • Collaborating effectively as part of a cross-functional team
  • Performing effectively in high-stress or conflict situations
  • Interacting professionally with coworkers, contractors, and clients both verbally and in writing

  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
  • Maintaining focus in dynamic, high-activity environments with potential distractions

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred)
  • Professional certification(s) such as Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) — highly desirable
