Job Summary
Lead, implement, and continuously improve the site-specific Health & Safety Program for a large ICI construction project in North York. Ensure full compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Projects Regulation, and project-specific requirements through comprehensive site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and field audits. Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters, including regulatory agencies and client representatives. Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, deliver safety orientations, and mentor site teams to promote a proactive safety-first culture. Review safe work procedures, permits, and risk assessments while coordinating emergency response planning and supporting WSIB claims management. Requires 5-8+ years of progressive health and safety experience on ICI projects and a valid Working at Heights certification. Salary range $95,000 - $145,000.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5 - 8+ years of progressive health & safety experience on ICI construction projects
- Experience working on institutional or operational facilities (e.g., hospitals, schools, government, transit)
- Demonstrated leadership experience on large, multi-trade construction sites
- Advanced working knowledge of Ontario OHSA, Construction Projects Regulation, and ICI industry best practices
- Valid Working at Heights certification
- Strong incident investigation and hazard analysis experience
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in safety reporting systems, audits, and compliance documentation
Desired Qualifications
- CRSP, CHSO, NCSO, or equivalent professional certification
