Job Summary
Assist in rolling out and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives while acting as the onsite Health & Safety and Return-to-Work Coordinator. Maintain documentation requirements within the Integrated Contract Management System (ICMS), ensure team qualifications and training needs are met, and lead daily pre-starts, monthly toolbox meetings, and risk assessments. Conduct safety observations, review Safe Work Method Statements, and manage administration of HSE systems. Work a 24/7 rotation attending closures on the Transurban Sydney Southern Network project, requiring a driver's license and own vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- Proven WHS or related experience in construction, maintenance or similar field
- Experience in managing administration of HSE Systems, eg Rapid, Permitted
- Experience in conducting Risk Assessments
- Reviewing SWMS
- Knowledge of other Safety documentation
- Attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills, inclusive of excel
- A strong work ethic
- Problem-solving
- Demonstratable customer and results orientation
- White Card
- First Aid
- Drivers Licence with own vehicle
- Willingness to work a mixture of days and nights to attend closures
- Have a thorough understanding and commitment to occupational health safety and environmental requirements
- Participate in daily pre-starts
- Participate in monthly toolbox meetings
- Conduct risk assessments
- Ensure that safe work practices are observed at all time
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate IV in WHS preferred, with willingness to obtain if not held
- Return to Work Coordinator training preferred, with willingness to obtain if not held
- Presentation skills for leading pre-start and toolbox meetings
