Job Summary
Health, Safety and Sustainability Coordinator needed at New Horizon Co-op in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Provides administrative support to the Health & Safety department (document prep, data entry, scanning, records management), supports H&S projects (policies, procedures, manuals), coordinates and facilitates required training (WHMIS, TDG, First Aid) and maintains training records, conducts orientations for new employees/contractors, assists with review of legislation and program updates, monitors regulatory changes, supports incident investigations and corrective action tracking, and assists with development and maintenance of H&S programs. Requires a high school diploma plus a one-year related certificate, 1–3 years of experience, a valid Alberta Class 5 license, strong MS Office and H&S systems knowledge, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma plus completion of a one-year certificate program in a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar role or office environment
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Health & Safety management systems
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong observation, incident response, and problem-solving skills
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
