Job Summary
Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on occupational health and safety, workplace injuries, claims management, and return-to-work processes across Canadian operations. Serve as the subject matter expert to ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and legislative requirements. Develop, implement, and continuously improve corporate health and safety policies, procedures, programs, tools, and initiatives. Coordinate investigations following accidents, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring follow-up on corrective and preventive actions. Manage workplace injury claims, appeals, disability cases, and return-to-work files in collaboration with external service providers. Oversee actuarial analyses related to the retrospective rating program and produce, analyze, and interpret health and safety metrics, statistics, dashboards, and reports. Participate in workplace inspections, internal and external audits, and health and safety committee activities. Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training, awareness, and communication initiatives that promote a strong safety culture. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Industrial Relations, 3 to 5 years of OHS experience, and bilingual proficiency in English and French.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety
- Bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices
- Solid understanding of applicable workplace health and safety laws and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
