Job Summary
Health & Safety Advisor at Ekati Diamond Mine on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule. Provides field health and safety support across surface and underground operations (50/50 field and office). Develops and implements risk and safety standards, conducts workplace inspections, hazard identifications, and training; leads root-cause analysis and corrective actions; communicates safety requirements to supervision; conducts safety program audits and evaluations; acts as a resource on the OHSC; supports safety objectives and ensures compliance with WSCC NT Mine’s ACT, CCOHS, CSA and related standards.
Required Qualifications
- Formal certification in Health and Safety (e.g., CHSC, CRSP, NCSO) or equivalent/similar qualifications
- 5 years’ mining or industry-related experience as a safety professional
- TapRooT® certification is an asset
- Ability to climb stairs, walk long distances, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Experience related to control of occupational exposures in mining is a benefit
- Strong communication and organizational skills; proficient in MS Office; effective with employees and supervisors at all levels
- Emergency Response or Emergency Medical Services experience is a benefit
