Job Summary
Carry out individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist using evidence-based techniques to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. Provide patient treatments in accordance with established plans of care while completing accurate clinical documentation and charging to support therapy services. Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary partners to address patient concerns, adjust treatment approaches, and facilitate transitions between service lines. Delegate tasks to therapy technicians, build efficient patient schedules, and identify risks related to safety, infection control, and equipment needs. Communicate regularly with the onsite supervising Physical Therapist regarding progress, goals, and treatment plan needs. Educate patients and family members using clear communication and sensitivity to individual cognitive and cultural needs. Participate in professional development and clinical education activities that support the therapy profession.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Nebraska or a compact state
- Basic Life Support CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Ability to independently lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, and movement as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Ability to utilize technology and resources efficiently and effectively
