Job Summary
Screen clients for program eligibility, schedule appointments, and provide health education while conducting outreach to at-risk populations. Perform routine vision and hearing screening tests on children to identify impairments requiring follow-up, then communicate results and assist with referrals. Prepare routine materials including reports, correspondence, data entry, and billing spreadsheets. This role reports to the WIC/BBO-C Coordinator and requires certification in vision and hearing screening. Candidates must have an Associate degree or equivalent experience in maternal and child health programs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent demonstrated experience working with maternal and child health programs
- Successful completion of training programs approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health leading to certification in vision and hearing screening
- Successful completion of training programs approved by the WIC and BBO-C programs
- Ability to be flexible and establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Late clinic hours until 7pm, 1-2 times per month
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, or English and Arabic preferred
