Job Summary
Perform technical evaluations of radiation protection programs, procedures, and controls. Develop and review radiological work permits, isotopic analyses, and bio-assay results to ensure station controls and dosimetry accuracy. Conduct dose assessments and calculations while overseeing the dosimetry control program and shipping processes. Act as a change agent to improve ALARA through dose reduction initiatives and plant modifications. Carry out refueling outage special assignments including dose tracking, ALARA reviews, and serving as area leads. Participate in emergency planning drills, training, and scenario development. Maintain NRC regulations and industry standards across radiological engineering and radiochemistry functions.
Required Qualifications
- Health Physics Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Science, or Engineering
- Some applicable Health Physics experience
- American Board of Health Physicists 'CHP' certification
- BA, BS or MS in Health Physics or have a BS and certification by the American Board of Health Physics
- BS degree in Engineering or Physics with applicable Health Physics experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, or Radiological Engineering
- American Board of Health Physicists 'CHP' certification
