Health Physicist

Implement Iowa State University's radiation safety policies and procedures by conducting surveys of research laboratories and analyzing samples to assess radiological conditions. Calibrate and maintain radiation detection equipment while supporting the worker dosimetry program and compliance with the university's ALARA program. Review engineering controls to support inventory management and reduce radiation exposure risks, then work with faculty, staff, and students to promote the safe use of radioactive materials. Depending on experience, provide technical guidance, conduct program audits, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the Radiation Safety Program. This role offers the opportunity to work with researchers across diverse disciplines while helping maintain a safe and compliant environment for the campus community.
