Job Summary
Health & Physical Education Teacher for middle school on a 200-day contract; provides core instruction, uses standards-based curriculum, employs data-informed practices, collaborates in a shared-leadership environment, serves diverse student populations; Virginia licensure required or eligible; contract renewable in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia.
Required Qualifications
- Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with appropriate endorsement
- Demonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices
- Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance
- Understanding of continuous school improvement and Effective Schools research
- Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities, English language learners, students who live in poverty, and students who are gifted
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared-leadership environment
