Job Summary
Health/Physical Education Teacher for Head Junior High Girls Basketball. Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, and individual, dual or team sports, utilizing curriculum designated by the district. Develops lesson plans aligned with ADE standards; provides instruction adaptable to students and subgroups. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly and productive environment in the physical education area. Provides safety instruction and performs safety checks on equipment and fields. Communicates with parents, counselors, and principals on scholars’ progress. Supervises scholars in and out of classroom during the assigned work day. Maintains professional competence through staff development and curriculum meetings. Creates an effective learning environment through functional activities and practices. Performs related duties as assigned by the Principal or designee. Working environment is a school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a pupil-related field
- Must possess a valid Arkansas Teaching License with required endorsement or working towards licensure
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public
- Three (3) years of satisfactory teaching experience (preferred)
