Job Summary
Plan, supervise, and implement a diversified Health & Physical Education Program within the Club. Create an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes by promoting daily physical education, health activities, and special events. Orient new members to program rules, safety protocols, and opportunities while providing guidance and role modeling. Develop weekly and monthly program plans, monitor member participation, and maintain records to track attendance. Supervise volunteers and program assistants, enforce order and discipline, and ensure all activities meet safety and quality standards. Monitor supply needs, order materials within budget, and maintain a clean, attractive program area. Participate in staff meetings and assist with facility repairs or driving the club van as directed. Work daily afternoon and evening hours with occasional weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of three years
- Experience working with youth
- Knowledge of youth development
- Formal training, and/or experience teaching youth
- Ability to create engaging learning experiences
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Ability to motivate youth
- Ability to manage behavior problems
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to reach
- Ability to bend
- Ability to lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs
- Ability to travel to special events and field trips
- Ability to work daily afternoon/evening hours
- Ability to work weekends
