Job Summary
Assist program leaders in planning and leading center activities, promoting participation and providing guidance to youth. Safely transport members and staff to and from school, activities, and programs while maintaining vehicle maintenance and cleanliness records. Monitor program quality and safety, preparing periodic activity reports, and implement outreach efforts to sustain membership. Operate transportation in accordance with state and Salvation Army regulations, supervising passenger behavior and communicating respectfully with parents and staff. Work in youth centers and community facilities, occasionally managing challenging situations with families or external partners.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be over the age of 21 to drive a center vehicle to transport youth to/from the Red Shield Youth Center and for field trips
- Ability to lift (or obtain assistance lifting) moderately heavy (30-60 lbs.) program equipment following appropriate safety precautions
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly
Desired Qualifications
- Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred
