Job Summary
Health/P.E. Teacher responsible for preparing and delivering health and physical education lessons, differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs, maintaining accurate progress records, applying research-based planning and classroom practices, managing student behavior, creating a positive classroom environment, utilizing curriculum reflecting diverse backgrounds, implementing school culture standards, communicating with families about academic and social-emotional development, integrating technology into daily practice, participating in non-instructional activities as needed, collaborating with colleagues, and performing additional duties as assigned. Requires current Ohio teaching license, a bachelor’s degree in education or related field, and comfort working in an urban, growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations/debriefs and progress monitoring.
Required Qualifications
- Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience working within an urban environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to supervise students in various school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
- Ability to properly manage confidential information
