Job Summary
Educate patients on Medicare programs, insurance coverage options, and public benefits like Extra Help to increase access and retention. Assist clients with navigating insurance issues, including eligibility, benefits summaries, and resolving medical bills while advocating for their interests. Serve as an internal resource for providers and staff regarding Medicare and eligibility questions, particularly during Open Enrollment. Manage the welcome visit and orientation process for new patients, support clinic operations on scheduling and billing, and foster engagement through events like center tours.
Required Qualifications
- US work authorization
- Ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs to include, but not limited to: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in non-English languages like Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by people in the communities we serve (where necessary) as required by center's demographics
- Experience with helping patients or customers understand their insurance coverage
- A passion for working with others to create an unmatched patient experiences
- A problem-solving orientation and a flexible and positive attitude
- Sales background
- Experience with and a supportive attitude toward our patient population of older adults
- CRM experience
- Bachelor degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience helping patients navigate the health care system, especially related to Medicare and Managed Care
