Health Information Technician

Health Information Technician at Cherry Health executes tasks to maintain confidential, accurate patient records aligned with regulatory standards. Core duties include preparing records for electronic capture with image quality, releasing information per HIPAA/state guidelines, processing electronically transmitted information, conducting peer audits to assure accuracy and quality control, maintaining integrity of the patient electronic health record, sustaining productive audits, utilizing reference materials, and training others related to Health Information. Requires strong data-entry skills, understanding of medical terminology, and proficiency with EHR systems (NextGen) and Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently within a team and adhere to HIPAA/HITECH, Meaningful Use, and organizational policies. Education and licensing include High School or equivalent; preferred Health Information Technician certification; prior experience in data entry, 10-key by touch, medical terminology, release of information in a healthcare setting.
