Job Summary
Process release of information requests for medical records by answering inbound/outbound calls, retrieving documents, and transmitting them to external sources. Safeguard patient privacy by ensuring all releases comply with HIPAA regulations and company policies while maintaining confidentiality of privileged information. Document requests in multiple platforms using two monitors, assemble medical records in standard order, and create digital images for electronic storage. Manage patient health records, handle administrative duties such as faxes and mail, and assist with patient walk-ins or scheduling pick-ups. Work in a high-volume production environment with minimum supervision, responding to changing priorities and fluctuating volumes as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
- Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required
- Basic computer proficiency
- Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis
- Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records
- Strong data entry skills
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs
- Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
- Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment
