Job Summary
Registration Clerk in Health Information Services responsible for accurate and concise collection of information during patient registration, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting Health Information Services in a fast-paced environment. Requires knowledge of PHIA, typing 40 wpm, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with ADT systems; role includes potential travel to other regional facilities and working in a bilingual environment if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program
- Completion of a recognized Medical Terminology course
- Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and related legislation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Outlook
- Accurate keyboarding/typing skills of 40 wpm
- Demonstrated knowledge of electronic health records
- Ability to provide high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Approachable and welcoming demeanor
- Written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize in a changing environment
- Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Fluency in both official languages (English and French) for bilingual positions
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to vehicle (for travel to other regional facilities)
