Job Summary

Compile, process, and maintain medical records for hospital and clinic patients, ensuring accuracy, organization, and security in compliance with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements. Locate historical paper and microfilmed records using the terminal digit order filing system and manage adoption cases, chart destruction, and date of death processing. Operate the Epic Chart Desk and HIM scanning methodologies, including paper medical record scanning and Fax Image Management System usage. Answer phone calls, satisfy requests, relay messages, and direct callers regarding chart corrections and duplicate record identification. Work in an office environment to support quality patient care across the healthcare system.
