Job Summary
Health Information Management Technician to compile, process, and maintain medical records in both electronic and paper systems within a hybrid health record environment. Responsibilities include handling requests for health records with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 compliance, maintaining and retrieving electronic health information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, scanning documents into EHR, preparing data for state reporting, processing disability requests, chart audits, and training staff on health information management procedures. Requires strong knowledge of HIPAA/42 CFR Part 2 regulations, medical terminology, EHR proficiency, and excellent organizational and communication skills. On-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm at 503 Farrell Drive, Covington, KY.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- An associate’s degree in health information management (or related field of study) preferred
- Working towards RHIT certification preferred
- One year of experience with medical records/health information preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) required
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficiency with medical office systems and electronic health records (EHRs)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
