Job Summary
Lead the Health Information Management department as a subject matter expert, guiding team members on policies, workflows, and best practices while training new hires. Prepare and organize medical records for clinic and imaging appointments, scanning histories into patient charts and distributing them to physicians and staff. Utilize the Epic EMR system to access charts, verify information, and manage patient communication tasks, ensuring full compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate workflow coverage during staffing shortages, present updates on team performance in departmental meetings, and recommend improvements to enhance productivity. Work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a base pay range of $15.00 - $18.50 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience working in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of health information management practices and medical records processes
- Ability to operate computers and standard office equipment, including printers, scanners, fax machines, and copiers
- Ability to manage high-volume administrative workflows with accuracy
- Experience utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
- Ability to work at a desk for extended periods (sitting), up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods, up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday
- Adherence to vaccination policies, safety measures, and any additional health protocols established to protect the well-being of patients, staff, and the community
